An exciting rarity, a formerly popular regional grape variety—of which now only 50 hectares planted in the world! A long growing period requires the grapes to stay on the vine until late October or November. No herbicides or pesticides are employed here. Algae from the Spanish coast is used as natural protection from insects. Fermentation is spontaneous, and sulfur (at bottling) is extremely low. The resulting wine is delicious: savory and juicy with a similar berryish tang as the Malbec but more earth tones and lingering flavors.
