Ground Fennel (ounce)
Ground Fennel, Foeniculum vulgare, is a finely ground seed of Mediterranean origin, that has a sweet and licorice-like flavor. It is also called ground fennel seeds, fennel seeds ground, or fennel ground.
Ground Fennel has a strong sweet licorice aroma and flavor with lemony top notes and a camphoraceous undertone.
Ground Fennel is a common spice in the Mediterranean and throughout Europe. It gives herbaceous lift to fish, soup, or bread. Add to chicken or sausages. Ground Fennel’s flavor can be a bit more aggressive than whole fennel or cracked fennel, but its flavor can also mellow more quickly. Add judiciously at first and taste test to get the right mix for your recipe.
Use Ground Fennel in meatballs, pasta sauces, sausage, soups, cabbage dishes, with lentils, or in both Indian and Thai curries.
Ground Fennel pairs beautifully with beets, potatoes, sauerkraut, stews, meat and chicken dishes, sauces, herb butters, dips and dressings, salads, omelets, apple pie, cakes, pastries, puddings, and spiced fruit.
Product of the USA.
