The Deba is used for butchering and cleaning fish. The blade is wide, thick and strong enough to cut through fish skin and bone. The sharp edge allow fillets to be cleanly cut from the bone.

Ginsan blades are hand forged from two layers with the harder Ginsan making up the edge and a softer stainless for the tang. This makes the knife easier to sharpen and care for.
